Proud mama

This past week was kind of rough. Monday I wrote about, and Tuesday and Wednesday, and Thursday I was fighting a stomach bug. My ribs still ache from wretching. Yesterday was the first day that I was able to exercize. I had yesterday and the day before off. Today is my Monday. Uggh. I still need to recover.

This week was kind of rough for my son, too. He started Rugby practice. WTF is Rugby anyway? Whatever it is, it's a big deal. He is a senior and a very big guy by island standards, well by any standards really. He is 5'10" and weighs over 350. He passed his physical to be able to play. He is running on the field. I'm PROUD of him! He's come a long way. He's always been a big kid but two years ago he had a brain trauma that messed with his metabolism and then he got really big.

He's gone to practice all week. He has cuts and bruises. Muscles hurt that he didn't even know existed. When he had the ball it took 4 guys to take him down.

He keeps going.

He's not quitting.

He doesn't have the "mean athelete" drive, but he keeps trying.

If he can run around the field with the scrawny kids, then I can not even complain about a little daily workout.

No excuses.

Good for your son! Tell him to keep at it.

Hope you are feeling better now and have a good week for this next one.

    Hang in there.
