AH, I did not realize what day it was until I was at some register writing it down in my check book. Perhaps that is why my back was so dang bad this morning I needed my dh to drive? Or maybe that is why my flat screen computer monitor bit the dust? Nah, I am not superstitious. Things just happen. That's all.
My dh was not feeling a whole lot better than me, but I could not twist my body enough to feel like I could drive, and I needed to get my check, go to the bank, and pick up just a couple things, and that turned into his taking me to 5 stops: Check, bank and grocery, another store, and another store, and ReStore - the habitat for humanity store. Last year, I picked up a flat screen monitor for about $20, and I wondered if I would be so lucky. I looked all over the store, and not a monitor was to be had, that was not attached to a register.
"We don't carry them anymore. But... this gentleman was trying to donate one...."
Guess what? This gentleman put the said monitor from the back of his car into our van. So, lo and behold, I got an old school monitor, at least it is black, so it doesn't look so outdated. Whee! Not bad for free! I was grateful for his generosity.
At the other store, I also got a frame for a cans of paint puzzle I finished, on sale. And some new puzzles, because dh and I have started working on them again. Something different to do other than staring at a screen, something we can do together. I also needed new batteries for my TENS unit, and a couple little office related things for my job search.
When we got home, my son installed the new monitor for me, because it is heavy, and getting under the computer desk is pretty much on my forbidden list. I might be able to get down there, but it is far from easy, and nearly impossible to get up. Then, I made a light lunch - tuna with low fat mayo and raisins, on a bed of iceberg lettuce, sliced apples, and wheat bread toast points, balsamic dressing, dill pickle and vegetable juice for us.
I did start the day completing 10 minutes of stretches, which may be why my back has been so bad. I am having trouble being able to do them. I have been doing about 6-7 minute average. I just took it slower and did 10. I also am pleased to say I have logged my food and fitness for 1 full week. I need to keep doing it to re-instill the habit. I am doing it. So today, is just another day on the calendar. Happy weekend, friends!
