Day 1 of Dr. Oz's 48 hour cleanse.
Tuesday, January 10, 2012
I decided to take on Doctor Oz's 48 hour cleanse. It is supposed to be done during the weekend but I had a hard time finding a couple of ingredients and I had purchased all of them except these so I went to a local healthy market and bought the last two (that place was wonderful) and started today.
Breakfast was Quinoa. Quinoa is great, but this recipe asked for the added ingredients of chopped up prunes and my gag reflex couldn't deal with the cooked prunes texture. Tomorrow, I will eat my prunes whole and on the side (thank you very much) and I had forgot to add the flax seed oil until half way through. I realized the flax seed oil added nice flavor so tomorrow, I will definitely remember it.
I became a little tired toward lunch (when am I not) and I think this is because I skipped the "snack" portion. Tomorrow, I will elect for the vegetables since I can eat them in any quantity.
What am I looking at to get from this? Nothing but the knowledge that I can do it and that I can deal with so called healthy foods and figure out how to incorporate them into my life a little bit more.
I ate my lunch smoothie today and I was blown away that I actually feel full! I bought enough flax seeds to grind and add to my morning oatmeal which after this cleanse, will become my breakfast staple.
If I finish this cleanse without cheating, then that means I've accomplished something that I never have. Albeit 2 days, but it is much better than the nothing I had before!
