New to SparkPages! The journey begins... lol

So, it is 1:06AM and I am sitting here trying to figure out how to use SparkPeople to my advantage. There is so much to go through. However, I have figured out how to post a blog and I am hoping to do a Vlog soon! So, today I had my 3 month appt with my endocrinologist. Good news is that my A1C went down from 8.3 to 7.9 but the bad news is that it still too high. I am maxed out on all the meds that she has me on so she said that we have to get my blood sugars down. She put me on insulin. I was put on insulin back in 2006 by some doctor at an urgent care because my sugars were near 400 and was able to be taken off of it due to my sugars getting better and put on oral meds. Anyways, it has been a long while since the insulin. This time she put me on Lantus and I took my first dosage around 11:00PM and I can honestly say that it has made me sick :( Not the medicine in my system but the smell of it!
Anyways, I am kinda disappointed in what I had for dinner tonight because apparently I ate wrong stuff even though I thought it seemed pretty healthy and not that many carbs. My sugar before dinner was 160 and after dinner 268! UGH! So, what did I eat? Some Select Harvest Soup with a few wheat crackers, a fat free, sugar free pudding and about 3 orange slices. Could it have been the oranges that made my sugar that high? Probably.
