One Week Down

I have great news guys. I lost 4.8 lbs. Oh yea! Hand claps all around! I don't think I've ever seen that kind of weight loss EVER. Now I know much of it is water weight, but I worked damn hard for that!

On the eating front:

First, I have a self-proclaimed "Juice Baby" living with me. My dear boyfriend, bless his heart, just can't get off the juice. So it's in my house. ALL THE TIME. I haven't touched a drop since I got serious about dropping these pounds. I've made myself tea, crystal light-ed up some water and have been reminding myself that juice played a big role in me getting to 183 lbs in the first place.

Over the weekend, we were up at 3 a.m. and were contemplating getting something to eat. We had gone grocery shopping the night before so I turned off my lazy switch and made us some chicken-fajita style omelettes with half egg/half egg whites. I cut up green peppers and tomato and in about 30 mins we were chowing down. Oh yea! Take that IHOP!

The next day, we went on a Wal-mart run. He stopped and got fries and a cheese steak sandwich, I waited until we got home and made a turkey sandwich, a side salad and had some sugar-free chocolate pudding.

I did A LOT of cooking prep last night. I chopped a bunch of veggies for salads and such. I cooked like 3 varieties of boneless skinless chicken breasts. I even made a vegetable soup! I made some mini cheese frittatas. I made a batch of "fool proof oven-baked brown rice" from a recipe on Spark Recipes. It's the easiest, but time consuming recipe I've tried--but indeed fool proof. I haven't burned a batch of rice since I started doing it that way. And believe me I was burning up some rice!

I'm back at work today after about two weeks off. Of course my first day back we would have a team meeting complete with bagels and cream cheese. Oy. But I was ready for them! I got to work an hour before the meeting, had my oatmeal with some agave sweetner and raisins and some mini cheese frittatas. I marched into the conference room with an apple and some water. Of course I got the "that's a healthy snack" comment. Oy. Why can't people keep their comments to themselves? I'm just trying to stop being a blob.

On the workout front, I've been doing the blogilates videos on youtube. They are awesome and I hate them at the same time. Pilates is just crazy. I don't think I'll ever understand how you freaking sweat that much from such small movements. But hell I'm glad it works.

I've also been fitting in some workouts on my eliptical trainer. I found the receipt the other day for it. I remember buying it as a birthday gift to myself. At the time I told myself that by my next birthday I would be at my goal. Ha! That thing served as a towel rack. But it's getting much more love now.

I also found this 10 min jumping jacks video on youtube. You do 10 second intervals of jumping jacks and side steps for 10 minutes. It's all good till about minute 6. Then you're like come on...when will this end. But it really got my heart rate going. I recommend it.

I realize that if I just turn off my lazy switch I can get myself off the losing side of this weight loss battle! Hooray!
