2012 ... a new start

So after 2011, I am looking forward to 2012.

2011 had some major changes for myself and my girls. Even though I started a new job in October 2010, I believe that my adjustment period was really all of 2011. New work schedule, new pay, new people, responsibilities, etc. I am so incredibly lucky to be where I am at in my career today. I've learned so much about myself being withthis company and position so far, that I look forward to the future with excitment. If I have to work, there is no other place I'd rather work.

With all the financial problems in 2011, I feel like I am finally back in control and actually can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Things happen for a reason and although I couldn't save our house, I know that in the long run it will be better for family. I was holding on to a material possession that matched my dream at one point.

I believe my dreams have taken on new shapes. I have found contentment where I am with my family and as the girls get older, I realize that we are doing just fine and I don't need that 'picture' of a perfect family. We ARE a perfect family for us. That is all I need. :)

For 2012, I have set two major goals.. weight loss and financial. I want to lose 100 (or more)lbs. and pay off my debt, with the exception of student loans. I have an accountability partner (my sister) and we sit down and discuss our goals monthly. I am going to post them here too, just so I can look back and see what I accomplished.

For January:
Track food on Sparkpeople daily
Go to curves 3x a week
250 lbs. by January 30th
Eat out only one time a week


Financial-
close one of the checking accounts
Create priority list for extra income (OT)
Have budgeted amount in savings account

I finally feel like the light bulb has clicked and although painfully hard, I feel like I can and WILL achieve the goals I set. And the good news is that we have two vacations scheduled already for 2013. Cruise in February 2013 and Disney again in Fall 2013. Looking forward to both with a whole new perspective!! :)
