Eat to Live - Day 5 (So Much Easier to Stay Up)

Saturday, January 07, 2012

Yesterday was Day 5. I didn't get to bed when I wanted to. It's so much easier to just stay up and sleep in. This is my biggest issue but I'm hoping eating better will help.

This is what I ate:
- other half of (modified) Eat Your Greens smoothie
- half a big apple
- Simple Guacamole on celery
- plain steamed veggies from a Chinese restaurant (had broccoli, bok choy, snow peas, carrots, and bamboo shoots in it)
- a mango

I might be forgetting something.

I walked 3.6 miles in 90 minutes, burning about 576 calories. I got to bed at about 1am.

My goal is still to get to sleep by 10pm, lights out at 9 or 9:30pm. (I think if I keep writing it here it will eventually sink in...)

I need to eat more. I need to make sure I have at least one big salad everyday. I'm going to my parent's place tonight. I'm going to bring food with me to eat, including an unopened box of organic romaine lettuce salad. I have leftover guacamole and Black Bean Bundle fixings. I can bring ingredients to make that chili I still have yet to make.

I have that problem, I like to stay up, you are doing so well, and I think the bee time will settle for you as you go along. Have a great day!

Hey, just a thought...maybe you should start by moving your bedtime back 1/2 hour a week? And get up 1/2 hour earlier. A gradual shift might work better for your body clock. I would also suggest finding an am/pm yoga routine. Certain poses will wake you up, others will help you wind down.

Keep up the good work on your eating!! So great! Keep trying to work those salads in! It takes time to get used to munching on all that roughage. emoticon

I wasn't as much offended as confused. I didn't understand how you could say I was starving. I know what starving is, I've never starved in my life. I would never put myself in that situation on purpose. Many people around the world starve and it's horrible.

I was also confused that you thought my eating wasn't nutritious. Compared to the standard way of losing weight, eating less and working out more, "Eat to Live" is very nutritious. You actually eat more than you would on the Standard American Diet of meat, dairy, potatoes, tomatoes, and grains.

My apologies if I upset you. That was not my intention. I will end this chain as I appear to have offended you.
    Good luck!
