500 calories before I even got up?!?

I have diabetes. Unlike the majority of people with diabetes, I have Type I Diabetes and have since I was 12. Side note: it REALLY pisses me off that when people hear diabetes they automatically assume Type II. In fact, lots of people aren't even aware of what Type I IS, which really bugs me. Okay, this has the potential to be a huge rant, so back to the main story. Anyways, TWO times last night I woke up with low blood sugar. That means I have to get out of bed, go to the kitchen, eat something with quick carbs and something with protein. First time I had a glass of oj and half a bowl of cereal. Second time I had 4 glucose tabs and two cookies with peanut butter on them (I know, I know, but I'm out of bread. and I was annoyed. and cookies are delicious). Tempted as I was to ignore those, I added that into my tracker. Just under 500 calories and 85 grams of carbs! Really frustrating to see that before I've even had a real breakfast. This is also my exercise rest day (and my muscles need it...) so it's not even as if I can go to the gym and run a bit. What a start to the day...
