Under $20

Saturday, January 07, 2012

I went to my local grocery store (Bravo) and was pleasantly surprised that I was able to stock up on my weekly supply of fruits for less than $20. Some of which will probably last a little longer than a week.

$2.00 = 6 cucumbers
$1.00 = 5 tangerines
$1.60 = 4lb bag of oranges
$0.90 = 1lb plum tomatoes
$4.00 = 2lb strawberries
$2.00 = 5lb bag of grapefruits
$6.00 = 6lb bag of granny smith apples

$17.50

I also decided to alternate between chicken breasts and skinless chicken thighs to save some money. Plus chicken thighs are juicier than the breasts.

Thanks Lisa. It can be hard to include everything especially with one income and three mouths to feed but a small supermarket opened up in my neighborhood. emoticon I do find that I have to go to a few different stores to get everything but they're relatively close so it works out. emoticon

Hood Job...It can be difficult to find inexpensive, healthy options.
