Geaux Saints & Geaux Tigers

I think I slept 12 hours last night. It was still not enough to make up for being awake for about 40 hours straight. Next week I am definitely taking some melatonin the night my husband is out of town. I will especially need to sleep that night because my mom will be having knee replacement surgery the following day.

I am so excited that my mom is having these surgeries (she will do the other knee in six weeks). She has been in so much pain the past year that she has a difficult time with simple tasks. She is only 57 years old and too young to be limited in her activities. I’m hoping when she is fully recovered I can get her to do some fitness activities with me.

This weekend is a Louisiana football fan’s dream – Saturday the New Orleans Saints are playing in a playoff game and Monday the LSU Tigers are playing for the BCS National Championship!!!!!!! Today I am representing the Saints in an all-black outfit with a black and gold fleur de lis scarf. Monday our boss is letting us wear jeans and LSU gear to work. Whoop! Whoop!

One of my former students plays for LSU and I am so proud that he is doing so well. Considering where he comes from it is amazing that he is even in college. When I see him on TV, I am in awe that this “little boy” who gave me so much trouble in class (he was one of those who was troublesome but still likeable LOL) is in such an intense situation. I communicate with him through facebook and twitter, and I think I make him crazy because I always ask about his grades first. I can’t imagine being a college athlete in such a high profile program and going to school. I realize that they have people to tutor them and stuff, but, still, you have to WANT it.

I had an amazing breakfast…PB & J Sammy!!!!! It was so yummy. I hadn’t had one in a while, but I was craving it when I got out of bed. Sometime only the real thing will do!!!!!
