Day 5 at the Gym

Thursday, January 05, 2012

Today was Day 5 at the gym. Not in a row, but my 5th day going since joining. And already I'm noticing that it is getting easier. I did a half hour on the stair machine tonight. The first (and only other) time I tried it I only lasted 5 minutes. The elliptical, I'm up to 20 minutes when I started off with 8 minutes. I've always hated stationary bikes, but now think I could last at least an hour if they didn't hurt my butt so much...

Point is, I put it off for so long because I just didn't believe I could ever actually do it. I joined the gym at work a while back, but there were limited machines and noone was ever there to watch me screw up. The gym I'm going to now is packed because of the time I go and because it is just after new year's. And I don't care! After just 5 days I love going there and I feel like I deserve to be there!

Sometimes all you really need is to get started. The rest will take care of itself!

Hey - maybe I'm replacing my addiction to smokes with an addiction to exercise! I'll take the healthy addiction any day!

emoticon on just getting to the gym. My ds keeps saying at night, "let's go running tomorrow Mom." But then in the morning has a reason to not go. "We will do it later." So I haven't made it yet.

Keep up the great work. emoticon on it getting easier each time!

Have fun at the gym! I love to go to mine too. I go to Planet Fitness. I love the machine called the "arc trainer". You burn tons of calories but is doesn't feel like it.
I did the same as you are doing. Each time you get on a machine you can go longer and do a more challenging routine than before.
    Way to go!!
