What "They" Say Is True

Considering I did not get a wink of sleep last night, I’ve been feeling pretty good today.
Ahh, but it’s only noon and I still have four more hours of work. So ask me how I feel at 3:30. I’m not making any promises.
I really need to learn to sleep when the husband is away. Normally I don’t have sleep issues, but when he is gone, I absolutely cannot sleep. I need to TACKLE this issue because he has informed me that he will be gone once a week, every week, for a while. Surely this lack of sleep will snowball and cause major issues in the long run.
I think that the cleaner healthier eating I have been doing the past few days is keeping me from crumbling into a heap on the floor. Today, after a few cups of coffee and green tea, I have been guzzling water like crazy. I think it is making a difference. Normally, by this point in the day, I would have eaten a super-sized value meal and drunk my weight in diet Coke. Then I’d be hunting down the nearest Hershey bar (or two).
I guess all those “experts” are right. Who knew?
Yesterday I stayed within my calorie goal and was not even tempted to have the “before-bed” snack I am so fond of. I just wasn’t hungry. So, while I was not sleeping, I took a look back at my tracker. I consumed 1,470 calories and 93!!! grams of protein. I think the protein is what kept me satisfied and out of the kids’ snack cabinet.
I haven’t had a diet Coke in 2 days….buuuuut… I have been drinking coffee and tea with Splenda. So I wonder: Have I traded one poison for another? I just don’t know. At work, I am only having one cup of coffee and water the rest of the day. Heck, I’m guzzling water like crazy. I’m in the bathroom at lot but I feel much, much better. So, I guess since I’ve traded my work diet Cokes for water I’m doing pretty good. In fact, I had 80 oz of water yesterday and am on my way to surpassing that today.
I have to exercise this evening since the husband wasn’t home this morning. I plan to hit the gym and get on the Stairmaster for an hour. I love the Stairmaster – crazy, huh? I’ve got a new book on my Kindle so all I can say is “I’m going to TACKLE this workout!!!!”
