The numbers are going the WRONG WAY!

Haven't been on in a long time, and totally fell off the wagon over the holidays. Had a lot of fun, but ate a lot of food I didn't need or really want. The result, one pound away from 300. Went back to the pool last night. Took it easy, really happy that my hamstring injury has healed and I can swim using my legs again! Gained back the 7 pounds that I lost in Florida now that I am back in the real world. Kids home, adult kids home, husband home, 50th birthday for my hubby and car drama...Calgon, take me away!

I have a stove again and am cooking a roast and roast vegetables...then it hit me, why am I continuing to do what doesn't work? A big huge meal, right before bedtime? I already have plans to hit the pool at 9:00, but working out after a meat feast is not pleasant.

So....I told the hubby to buy the juicer on the way home from the Health Club. We have wanted to juice for a long time, but didn't plunk down the cash for the juicer. I am not getting the ideal one, but a good one per Consumer's Reports, and a lot cheaper.

I am going to juice for 5 days and see how I feel. It can work this week as I am off this weekend. My kids are clamoring for "real food", i.e. junk food and fast food. I really feel like I am pushing the rock up the hill dealing with teens and pre-teens with huge appetites for junk food.

I will let you know how it goes!

Happy New Year!

Your picture is beautiful! I hope the juicing gets you refocused for the work ahead. You can do it!

Guilty confession here, my teenager doesn't like junk food as much as me! Except for pizza. Not to guilt you, just sharing here, this is MY 2012 motto:

Everyone has to come to that place in their life and only then can they MAKE THE COMMITMENT to change !

So, I am making that commitment and everyone here will probably get sick of reading this wherever and whenever I make that comment. I am carrying that statement with me on a piece of paper, and I have a copy on my dining room table, well you get the picture.

I am hoping YOU can find that Spark somewhere here in Sparkland to get YOU back on track! Happy New Year!

Good luck to YOU! It is hard to be the mom who has to feed everyone else--hard to cook for yourself AND for them. Do your best to encourage THEIR healthy eating as well--or they will have medical issues and be too heavy, too... But do take care of yourself!!
