It's a new day

I've been going to the gym quite infrequently as of late. If I'm lucky, once a week. It's a little embarrassing. But today is a new day. And more so, it's a new year. I went to the gym today fully prepared to have to wait for a machine because of all the New Years Resolutioners (maybe I'm one too). But I didn't have to, and I took full advantage of it! I ran for 45 minutes. Or, more accurately, ran and walked for 45 minutes. And I ran/walked 3.75 miles. Not a time to go around bragging about, but it's the longest and farthest I've run in MONTHS. So for that, I'm proud. And I plan to keep it up in the future. Fluctuate between 30-60 minutes of running and slowly build up my endurance. And, on the weekends I'll be playing in a touch football league with work! I'm really excited for that. There are two 23 minute halves, and I won't be playing the entire time, but I'll burn more calories than I would sitting on the couch. Slowly but steadily I'll find my groove of balancing work and working out. I've gained 5-10 pounds in the past 6 months and I plan to lose them in the next 1-2. And then some. 2012 is a whole new year and a whole new me.
