New Me Resolution -- Wake up call

Tuesday, January 03, 2012

Yes, I know it's January 3rd....and yes I know it's very cliche...everyone does it and so many don't go through with it. But....I'm making a resolution. I'd call it a New Year's Resolution, but I'm all about making it more than that...it's a New Me Resolution. And the need to do it hit me like a ton of bricks....

I'm sitting at my computer desk, like I've done for the last couple of weeks, right as the holidays started, and I'm looking around....tin of cookies...chocolate...gummy bears...the healthiest thing I can see is the can of Energy Mix nut mix...and I ate all the chocolate things out of there. In the course of a little over 2 weeks, I've gained at least 12 pounds...at least 3 of them in the last couple of days. Now I'm not going to go out there and state my current weight (or my goal weight, for that matter)...I've discovered that some people just aren't understanding and just don't get it. What's a good, healthy, feel good about me weight for one person isn't the same as the next. And the "I feel unhealthy and like CRAP' weight varies as well.... That said, I'm not just going for a goal weight...I want to feel GREAT. I want to LOOK GREAT. And it starts today. I've had all the tools in front of me...and I've used them, just not consistently. So....here we go. So maybe it's not a New Me Resolution....how about just a BETTER me resolution....mind, body and soul.

G'night SP....

That's the way to do it....use that frustration and channel it (in a disciplined way) into what works.

start off tracking food, stay within your daily calorie range, plan workouts in advance, expect set-backs, overcome them....repeat!

It can be done....Just do it!
