So, it's a new year. Doesn't feel any different than last year. Maybe that's because last year was only 2 days ago. lol

I am week 4 of the Tallahassee marathon training plan and it's going well for the most part. My speedwork runs are working great! I have gone from running intervals to straight distance for 5 miles and from a pace of 12ish mm to a 10:49ish mm in the past few weeks. I can't wait to see how fast I can get by sticking to it!!
I did my 18 mile run Saturday with the avg pace of 12:20 which is good for my LSD run. Coach told me to run it at 1mm slower than race pace but I think that was actually a little faster than that. I would LOVE to run the marathon at 11:20 pace but I don't think that will happen this go around. Never know though. I guess as long as my heel pain goes away I will be happy! I think it may be Achilles tendon but am not sure.

I didn't get the results from my Advocare challenge that I wanted. I have a feeling it has something to do with my thyroid. I have been tired and moody again lately and last time I felt like this it was off. I am going to make an appointment with the Dr to have my TSH levels checked again.

Christmas was great! I was off for 2 weeks and spend the time with my boys and hubby when he was able to get off of work. We went to see Sherlock Holmes and it was hilarious!! I loved it!
We went out to the gun range to shoot our new presents. DH bought me a Ruger 357 magnum revolver, the boys got a .22 pistol and well...DH has so many he can't keep track so he shoots them all. lol! This is me and my oldest son, Ty, at the range.

DH also bought me a medal hanger so that my medals aren't falling off of the sides of our dresser anymore. I let him pick out the saying. I like it but now it makes me feel like I need to do an ultra even more. lol!

The dang hamsters had more babies! UGH! I started out with 3 "females" which turned into 9 so I separated them and as of Christmas day we have 16. 5 of them are going to their new homes this week, thankfully! That leaves one mature baby left which will go home with one of the boys friends if I can't find somebody to take it. That will leave me with the other set of babies which are just now growing hair. Dang it anyway!

DH gave me the go ahead to apply for NYC marathon but now I am conflicted. I want to do it so bad but he also gave me the OK for Marine Corps but I cant' do both. I really want to do both! I know that I most likely won't get picked in the NY lottery but if I wait to see I will miss the chance to register (before it sells out) for Marine Corps. UGH! Decisions!

My SIL Julie is still fighting. They canceled the trial she was on, which was working for her and shrinking the brain tumors. She is still being treated for the Leukemia which is good. When the American Cancer Society canceled her trial they told her to enroll in Hospice but she refused, she won't give in that easy. She is such an amazing woman!!
We spend Christmas Eve and Christmas with them. She looks great! You would never know by looking at her that she is so sick.
This is movie time for the kiddos at Shane and Julie's house. Notice that Megan has made Riley a princess. LOL! So cute!!!

Well enough rambling for now I suppose.
I am back to work and it's slow. Blah!

Great job with your training and not quiting. Your strong and will get to the sub 5. I'm glad your SIL is a fighter and hope things work for her. Going to try for the half this weekend, not a chance for the Goofy. Tyler is doing the 200m on Friday. I'm getting so frustrated over this darn back. I want to run again!!!

    Saying more prayers for Julie!
You're going to do great in the marathon.
Remember, just keep at it. If you don't get your sub 5 this one, you try at the next one. You just keep trying. Don't ever quit. You'll get it!

    I know you will!
