Last day of vacation, and it will be one of washing clothes, making food for the week, etc.
I got home last night from about ten days in San Diego, CA area. It was fantastic. We went to beach area to see the seals and to an area where they usually hang glide, but there wasn't enough breeze for that, but still a nice view of the area. My sister and her husband also own a retirement home in Hemmet, CA. My sister and I went up there for a couple of days. What a nice facility! She showed me that area and we made a one-day trip to Palm Springs, did some sightseeing, had lunch at a casino. Yes, I had to leave them a little money afterwards! Then we came home a different way through a little resort town that offers lots of little stores. It was fun. Coming home in the dark through the mountains wasn't quite as fun, but still a great trip. One of the last nights in San Diego, we went to Balboa Park, walked around a little there and attended How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It was a great play.
I had a great time. I got some walking in, even though a couple of days was 20 minutes to half hour just walking around their pool, but at least it was something. I ate pretty well. While I didn't lose any weight while on the trip, I didn't gain any weight, so I would have to consider that a success.
Flying was an experience. I had planned to spend three hours both ways in Denver, opting to have some time to look in the shops and not have to worry about making connections. On the way out, I spent three hours in Bismarck, ND, and the plane was boarding in Denver as I got there. Made the connection, thankfully. Coming back, I was to leave San Diego at 7:24. We left at 10:30. Again the time was spent at the starting point. I had about 1/2 hour in Denver. Other than that, it was a great trip.
Well, I better go. I will have to do some work around here and get myself ready for the work world once again. New semester starts tomorrow. I think I'm pretty much ready for that.
I hope you all had a great holiday season and I wish you the best for 2012.
