After my half hour on the elliptical, a pilates class was starting at the Y. So I joined in. There was only one exercise that hurt my lower back, so I didn't do that one. The hour and a quarter went fast. It challenged some muscles but was also very relaxing. I don't think I did pilates in 2011 until today, but I plan to include in regularly in my 2012 exercise repertoire.

    Good for you! I took a Pilates course some years ago . . . not my thing then, but who knows now? And so good that your back accepted most of it!

    That's great Marsha! An hour and a half. I have tried doing Pilates at home but it's hard to watch TV and attempt the exercises as well. I enjoyed the Yoga Pilates class that was happening at the condo in Santa Fe a year and a half ago. Wish they had something similar in late afternoon at our 55+ community but all the exercises are during the day when I am working.

    I did pilates for a while but I am bad, I don't like how long it takes even though I am retired and could have all the time to do it. I just get bored easily. I also didn't see too many results for me. but good for you if it works for you. will be interested to hear how it long term works for you.

    I would love a Pilates class if we had one locally! I know I neglect on the stretching and I think that would help me get some in. Hard to find the time to do all I'd LIKE to do!
