Day 29
Friday, December 30, 2011
Had a good physical therapy session, I am starting to get much more mobility in the shoulder and the pain is only noticeable every once in a while. Two more sessions then I go back to the orthopedist.
Came home and decided to take down one of the Christmas trees. The real tree in the family room had turned very quickly into a decorated matchstick! I've never had a tree do this before. It smelled so fresh when we bought it and we did the needle test to make sure the needles were staying attached. But it didn't take any water, even from the first day, and the lot attendant definitely cut a portion off the trunk so it should have. I was afraid we'd have a fire it was so brittle.
Anyway, I figured I could dismantle it by myself in between conference calls and other work. Took me from around 11 to 2 but got it all done, including packing the boxes back under the stairs. Wrapping up the family ornaments was making me teary then I glanced out the picture window and realized we were getting snow. That made me so happy because I'd been talking to God in the morning about how I want to leave Christmas with a positive feeling instead of sadness. It might sound silly but we were predicted to have high 40s almost 50 today and clear skies...I think my Jesus sent me some snow to cheer my heart. He loves me like that you know.
Sarah, Daniel and the babies came home from WV. The noisiness and mayhem is back and everyone is happy that one tree is packed away. Two more to go this weekend!
