A Special Purchase For Inspiration In The New Year!

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

Christmas was absolutely wonderful! We ate, drank and were very merry as we celebrated with family and friends. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Now, it's time for me to get back to my regular routine. So, yesterday and today I went to the gym. It felt great to be back! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I also started carefully tracking my food yesterday. All the holiday temptations are gone, so it is a lot easier to be "good". emoticon

But, I have always found the need to have that little extra inspiration/motivation to keep things moving along. I have found that if I spend money on a really nice piece of clothing that is too small and hang it in my closet, I push myself harder to be able to fit into it. So, today I went shopping! Money is somewhat tight at the moment, so this made my spree even more daring. I went to TJ Maxx (one of my favorite stores) and found a gorgeous pair of Calvin Klein jeans on sale in a size 10!!! Mind you, it is not too long ago that I finally got into a size 12! emoticon

The interesting thing is they actually fit most of me really well. The only place I need to lose is in my waist. I figure another 1 to 2 inches should make them comfy at the waist. When I got home, I was able to button & zipper them while lying on the bed! emoticon emoticon Then, DH had to haul me off the bed so I could take a look in the mirror. Not bad! Actually, DH thought they made my butt look really nice!

With the New Year fast approaching, I now have my first resolution ready and waiting in my closet. I WILL fit those jeans before too long. And, I don't recall EVER wearing a size 10 jeans. emoticon

Great strategy, which I've used myself many times: the "next size" waiting in the closet. (And: for cost savings gotta admit that thrift store works just as well for me . . . ).

Happy New Year!! All best in 2012! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Linda, I am so glad you had a wonderful holiday with your family. It does make the holiday so special. And shopping is good too. You had me laughing as you explained laying on the bed to get into your jeans and DH having to get you off the bed so you could see yourself. You will be wearing your new jeans before you know it.

I hope you have a wonderful New Years.

    Hi Linda.........
I am so proud of you. I could picture you laying on the bed to zip the jeans and then your husband lifting you in one fast motion up to the mirror. I think that the last time I did that was in college. You are doing a fantastic job and that waist will be ample in the Calvins before too long. What a great idea for motivation.
