Countdown to 2012

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

I feel so positive about 2012. I am not one to make resolutions, yet this year I don't even feel the need to do so. I am hopeful that I can make the changes I need to make because 2012 is going to be my year! I have never felt so optimistic about a calendar change! It just feels RIGHT.

On January 2nd I start a 28-day elimination diet that I'm very excited to do. It's wheat free, sugar free, caffeine and alcohol free and vegan. I'll still be participating in my weekly GTS Jump Board PIlates class as well as power yoga. Most people lose weight on this diet, but that is not my primary goal, I just want to give my body a break, let it heal from the stress of the holidays, and see if I have any food sensitivities. Sometimes it can take up to 60 days to do this diet because if I have any reactions to foods, I have to scale it back and try the foods again along each stage. It's not really that restrictive though, from the third day I can eat brown rice and cooked vegetables, two food groups I eat all the time anyway.

If you want more information, check out www.wholelifenutrition.n
. You do not need the book to follow the diet.

Well, the countdown is indeed on. If you're looking for some new year challenges to go with these immensely positive feelings, come to
and if that doesn't work, check out the Calling All Vegetarians (and Vegans)! spark team!

Happy new year!

emoticon 2012 is going to be a year of discovery for you.

I'm still trying to figure out how this diet works. I don't see any specific pan except for the phases list. Where do the smoothies come in? In the blog it talks about 2 days of a smoothie fast but I don't see a day by day plan. Am I missing something?
