What's it going to take?

I ask myself this question all of the time. I don't know why it is such a struggle for me to be healthy and lose weight. I could say "well, you work full time in a highly stressful job," or "in addition to working full time, you are a graduate student," or a number of other things. This last semester was such a butt kicker. Unfortunately, my health/healthfulness was put on the back burner. There are reasons but the bottom line is, I just don't know how to make it all work. Something is always sacrificed. I try to make good choices, but not always successfully. I want to make it work, I want to lose weight, I want to feel healthy. This is where my opening question comes in to play...what's it going to take? diabetes? Heart attack... high cholesterol... I don't want these things. I know how to make good choices, I know how to exercise, I know how to deal with stress, I know how to get my homework done, I just don't know how to do all of it at once. There is one thing that I DO know, I am not going to quit trying. I have been trying my whole life, one of these times, it will work! This is my new workout buddy!

    I'm totally with ya - school is rough, I know...something always takes a back-seat to studying...like eating right, working out, getting a good night's sleep...You just manage to get some sort of routine down and you're feeling good about exercise and food and then it's time for another round of midterms or finals and it all goes by the wayside...but then you're exhausted so it takes weeks to get back in gear...and then the tests hit again...it's such a vicious cycle!!!!

    Gosh, I hope it won't be like this after school, lol!
