The Good Cooker Declares Victory!
Monday, December 26, 2011
This morning I weighed 126.6. WooHoo! My goal weight range is 124-129.9, which is over 80 lbs below my high weight. Friday I was up to 130.0 and concerned about my No Gain Holiday pledge. But I am declaring victory! I did it!!
However, I've got to keep doing it. My house is full of calorie dense foods. My daughter requested fudge and candied yams. I made both for her. She was suppose to take them home, but said she'd get them today because she didn't have room in her car due to Christmas presents. There is lemon meringe pie and peach cobbler that my hubby wanted. Bet we'll end up throwing much of it away. I had 3 takers for ham, but no one took mashed potatoes, dressing, and gravy. We only had 6 out of 36 deviled eggs left and my husband has already claimed those leftovers. We have lots of nuts and cheese, but I usually have some of those in the house. There is a gingerbread house decorated with candy. There are more than a dozen dinner rolls left. May freeze those.
The turkey is yummy and I will eat that. We have lots of fresh veggies and fruit in the house. I have several pounds of fresh green beans that I did not get cooked yeterday that I will prepare today. The broccoli I fixed yesterday had sauce on the side that does not tempt me, so the leftovers are fine. We've got lots of fresh veggies from the veggie tray. I'll do fine.
I don't feel at all deprived. I enjoyed my meal and my nibbles of calorie-dense food. I was delighted when my 4 year old granddaughter ate well, even the broccoli, and declared, "Old Mom is a good cooker!"
