Goals for 2012

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

With the help of my DH I got my goals into a list that I can manage. I have started making a poster of them just for fun. Here they are as they currently stand along with the how. They are not set in stone, but as of right now this is what I think I want :). I am also looking for suggestions (especially on things like races) so feel free to add your thoughts, I wont take offense :). Goals are meant to grow!

2012 Goals

Fitness:
- Reach Target Weight by the end of April (180 pounds)
- Reach my Target Size by the end of April (size 12)
- Be able to do 100 pushups by July 1st
- Be able to run a 10 minute mile (more than 1 mile) by July 1st
- Competed in a race (biking? Duathalon?)
How am I going to do this:
- Eating
o Eat to Live
o Tracking
o Get at least 60 grams of protein per day
- Workout out
o Weight train 3x/week, following a program
o Practice pushup related exercise 1/week
o Speed workout 1/week
o Burn at least 3500 calories per week
o Minimum 10 minutes activity Every Day
o Find a race and train for it
Personal
- Stop biting finger nails
- Complete my mission statement concisely (7 habits guided) by July 1st
- Learn to scroll on my saw (by next winter)
- Learn bike maintenance
- Live in a cleaner house
How am I going to do this:
- Gain more awareness of what I am doing with my hands/wearing gloves until I stop
- Make time once per month to think about my mission
- Practice 1/week on my saw once the weather warms up
- Take a bike maintenance class
- 10 minutes a day to clean something extra
Community
- Become more active in my church
- Find other activities to become involved in
How am I going to do this:
- Participate in “be the church activities”
- Find my talents

I know the community one is vague. I really don't know where some of my talents lay. I've found a lot of things I don't like over the years so I guess that is a start :). My church does a time and talents thing to help people find activities they will enjoy, so I plan on doing that once I get the courage.

Bring on 2012!

Great job and great list of goals! Take the church talent assessment. I managed those and Outreach for our church in KY and the assessment is really fun, not to mention helpful. I agree with the need to include rewards. Since DH helped with the list, why not make the big reward a vacation for the two of you. He'll support you even more then!

Wow, these are some lofty goals!

I would work out some kind of rewards for yourself, something to give you extra oomph to get all of these tasks done!

This list is well thought out. It is so important when you are married to have the support of your DH. Well Done!

One question though. What is the source of your protein? If it is meat..read my mind. LOL

Plant based protein is true protein that the body can utilize without taxing the organs.

Another question: 60 gms of protein per day??? Where did you get that number?

Here's a web address for you to cut and paste for some information regarding protein requirements:http://www.notmilk.com
