Oh My Goodness!!

Wow I knew it had been awhile since I visited good ol' spark but hadn't realized it had been that long!!

I fell off the wagon long time ago and never got back up =( So much happened over the last year and I guess I just kind of gave up for awhile. To look back when I was regularly on here to now is a big slide backwards probably add a few extra steps further back than where I started to begin with "sigh"

I have some health issues myself and I think because I don't really know how to explain or deal with them I just quit! I need to wrap my head around the fact that I can't just quit! I may not be able to go to the gym 2 times a day or go 5-7 days a week but I can start adding some activity back in my life. Sometimes because of the health issues I can't do much but I need to do something. It's just the spark went out and once you lose the spark it is hard to rekindle it =/ But it can be rekindled and I need to start getting something going!!

Will I be back on here every day? Blogging every day?? I don't know. Just take one day at a tme hopefully another year won't go by without me posting! =)

    Glad to see you assessing your situation...good to review it now and then. I have been up/down, back/forward for the entire time I have known you..first on Soup..now on Sparks. Since I returned to TN from STX I can't get the weight back down to what I weighed there...I never realized how all that strolling in service every morning was keeping me healthier.

    So, regarding moving. You don't have to be on a treadmill. You don't have to do calisthenics. You don't have to do anything strenuous. But you do have to start.

    If walking or feet or hips or legs are a problem, wave your arms. Put on music you like and conduct. It is harder than you think to do it for any length of time...at least at first...but it is a great, heart healthy way to exercise. Just one suggestion.

    The thing is, Jehovah made our bodies to move. He didn't intend for us to have so many health issues and problems...but the things he DID build into us will help us to work through and around some of the stuff this system of things has dumped on us.

    So, my friend, you CAN do it...even if it is just a tiny baby step to start. Do something. Then, try to increase how much or how long or what you do each day by some tiny increment. I know this works...I did it. I am pretty sure I barely headed off a heart attack (did develop angina and required two stents!). Now I try to maintain or improve my activity levels ...Sparks is a great way to find ideas and to track what you do. It helped me to see how much I WASN'T doing in the beginning.

    Enough. You know all this. I want you to be around to share with us for a long time yet to come...so you need to take care of what you have. Get Sasha to help you...and Mom. You can do it! They can do it! You will be glad you did! emoticon

    Now you're a triplet.....this has happened to so many, you probably couldn't count us all. I know myself well, for me.....I will wait for the new year. I'm tired, had some serious problems which left me saddened and despondent and I also downed tools and just gave up. But like yourself, I know I cant. I am planning a few days of relaxation and "time out" and then I'll come back stronger. I'm basically just waiting for hubby to get some time off and then I'm out of here.

    Hey, Twin! It does get you doesn't it. When I had to quit the gym 8 months ago, I started backsliding too and gained back over 15 pounds. Dh just decided that with his health, he needs NO junk food and lots of fruits, nuts and veggies so now maybe I'll have more cooperation for eating healtheir emoticon It's hard when you are trying to do it alone. The pain issues are a big killer too when it comes to moving around. Bought dh a treadmill earlier this year just before quitting the gym so need to get back on it myself. Will have to work back up on it working around the nasty FMS.

    Hang in here and we can get back in the complete groove together. emoticon
