Kicking off the New Year early!

I have had so many changes in my life this year. Some were hard changes and some were fantastic changes but all together they have made me a better me.
Since I lost my running buddy, one of my changes this year was to run for my self and not as much with other runners. I wanted to be able to push my self and make my self accountable without staying back or relying on somebody else. I found that I ran a lot better this way and actually enjoy running my long runs at my own pace or picking it up when I feel strong. I still run with a group here and there and they are fantastic. We all know each others expectations which makes it nice. If one or more goes ahead or fall back we come back at the end to make sure everybody is ok, had a great run but we ran the way we needed to that day without compromising the others.
I am starting the new year off right and early! I have a fantastic opportunity to work with an amazing runner and I couldn't be more excited! I started the Advocare 24 day challenge with her in hopes to lose some of this weight that I can't seem to get off. I am currently on day 2 and it's going great! All of the Advocare products are designed by Dr's for athletes so I know my body is getting just what it needs to perform the best I can.
Aside from the challenge, she is helping me train to be a faster, stronger and better runner! I am SUPER excited about this part as it's been a struggle for me to work on speed. I have an ultimate goal of running a solid 8mm pace and qualifying for Boston. I know this is a very long term goal but I know with a lot of hard work and help from my trainer that I can do this!
I am 100% dedicate to my goals and no matter how long it takes me to achieve them, I will achieve them!
My trainer started off at a 5hr marathon and ran 19 before she qualified for Boston. Knowing that makes me see how much hard work is involved and that it is obtainable!
This past year made me realize a lot of things. It was a real eye opener for running, my family and friendships but ultimately it made me a better me.
