Pocket Full of Poop

Yup...not exactly Natasha Bedingfield, sorry.
My run today was a bit more interesting (and easier) than usual. In order to help out a friend, I agreed to run her EIGHT dogs. I ran the first four for just over forty minutes and it was truly the easiest run ever, because unlike my dogs, nobody came to a dead stop to lick their butt or laid down refusing to run after only two houses down from our own. These dogs not only ran with me, they propelled me...yeah, I'll probably feel that tomorrow. The only thing that slowed us down was a combination of my too big pants (with a flashlight and keys in my pocket) constantly falling down and an occasional puppy poop stop. The first two poop incidents were near park barrels and a problem. The final poop was near nothing and in order not to ruin a near perfect run, I did. Ick, ick, icky...I did. I put the poop baggy in my sweatshirt pouch...eew! The gross things we do for our (and for friends') dogs and in the name of fantastic runs. The run was great (when I wasn't thinking about the bag).

The last four dogs were her older (and one very young) crew, who just wanted to walk, which made for a perfect cool down and stretch session for me.

In this season of giving (so cliche, I know) I again see how helping out a friend can sometimes help ourselves out as well, though I am pretty sure the pocketful of poop is optional.

Sometimes, to show that we really do care, we have to take a little "poop" from our friends. But not too much and not too often.

Glad it went so well emoticon

What a great story! And congrats on all that good running and helping out a friend all in one! Carrying the poop bag was above and beyond the call of duty!
You should get a"great friend award"!!

What's more giving than carrying around a pocket of poop for a friend?! lol! My dogs yank me around, preferably to lift a leg on the nearest tree. I always figured if I walked faster that wouldn't happen so I don't blame them too much. (even though I don't really want to discuss how much money I've spent on obedience classes emoticon emoticon )
Your story made me laugh but it honestly sounded like an awesome workout. 8 total dogs? wow. A few years ago I had 5 and that was about all I could handle. It was nice of you to help her out!

Aww, poop. I have two chihuahuas who hate walking so I don't have anything to walk. Despite the poopie blunder, you also got a great arm workout. The dogs also made you do some mild calisthenics... down, pick up, up... down, pick up, up.

Ummm...I haven't tried running with it, but I usually tie the poop filled bag to the leash and let the dog carry it. Of course if it was a very big dog that might be a pain too.

I was laughing so hard I nearly POOPED in the pants! That is sooooooo like my Spot! Gotta stop and scratch/sniff/poop/pee/smell. Oh yeah.

Glad your sweatshirt survived. Guess I'd be washing THAT with some bleach! LOL

It's slightly after midnight and I'm having to stifle my laughter to avoid waking the house.
