Hi Sylvia - i just found your response to my post, and I'm glad you're coping with the depression. You are very strong to be able to manage without anti-depressants; but if you ever have to go on them, don't feel that you've failed. Sometimes we all need a little help, whether it's medication or talking to someone, or whatever else helps.
Lots of hugs to you and your teddies,

    Dear Gail,
Thank you for worrying about me. Although I feel suicidal, I would never do it because it is a selfish act to do to my husband. I had a spell of clinical depression about 5 years ago
for 3 years. The doctor was determined to give me antidepressants etc. I refused and managed to get out of it by
myself and that is what I am trying to do again now. Maybe its
because I am going to be 70 on 19th December! My husband is
wonderful to me, so I have no reason to be depressed. When I
think of people with dread diseases I feel ashamed of myself.Hugs galore Sylvia and her teddies

Sylvia, please don't say that! Life is precious, and you have said that you have a wonderful husband. Please don't think of doing that to him.

I understand that you are disappointed that you aren't losing weight as quickly as you would wish, and frustrated because your disabilities won't allow you to exerrcise the way you would like to; but you are an intelligent woman, and suicide isn't the solution!

If you have kept in touch with some of your colleagues from work, try to talk, or e-mail to them more regularly. If there is a seniors' group in your area, do they have programs that you could attend and meet some new friends?

Have you talked to your doctor about your suicidal feelings? If not, please do so right away. I was depressed for years, and suicidal at times, but with the right medications, I'm feeling a lot more positive.

Please take care of yourself, and remember that you matter, whether or not you are overweight.
