Working Sunday

Sunday, December 04, 2011

I took the dogs for a three mile walk this morning, and we stopped in the middle at Sweetbay where I bought two apple fritters – one for me and one for the BW. I ate mine while I was reading the St. Petersburg Times, but had to make a bacon and cheese omelet and toast to finish breakfast. I was happily reading the paper but the BW was cranky about the vacuum cleaner hose, and wanted me to promise to wash the windows after I finished up the safe driving course Tuesday and Wednesday.

The result of all that was that we started washing windows at 10:00, but she didn’t just want to wash the windows – she wanted to wash the sashes, and the screens, and the windows, both inside and outside. We went at it from 10 to 2:00, when I was feeling pretty beat. She decided to take a break for lunch and wanted Chinese, so I picked up egg foo young for me and chicken and vegetables for her. After lunch I finished the inside windows and put everything away. Then we took a break and watched the fourth hour of “Island at War”. After that I got out of the lounger, and I didn’t think my legs were going to hold me up. Fortunately it was only a few seconds, but I think I’m getting too old to climb up a latter and get down on the floor for hours at a time. I also think I deserve more than 70 minutes worth of exercise credit for today.

Then we finished the last two hours of the saga, which took care of the day.
