Tough Week... Tougher Me...

Friday, December 02, 2011

This week has been a tough one. But where it has been tough it showed me to keep fighting. Had a big project due at work and finally got it off my plate on Tuesday. That was also the day I found out about my grandmother. My grandma is a FIGHTER!! They gave her a temporary pacemaker and she is doing a lot better. Can you believe this woman is 101 years old and still has so much fight in her. She is AMAZING!!! They are going to take her off the pacemaker and see how she responds. If she doesn't respond well they will install a permanent one. This will be her first heart surgery ever so if they have to do it I pray she keeps fighting through it as it is hard to recover from major surgery at her age. But having her fight gives me motivation that no matter what comes up to just handle it. Keep fighting...

So yesterday I was at work and I get a visitor at my desk. My sister and I work for the same place a floor apart.. She collapsed in the bathroom and was vomiting and in a lot of pain. I immediately went to be by her side. Rode with her in the ambulance to the hospital and spent 12 hours with her in the ER. Thankfully she is doing much better today. They found a large cyst on her ovaries that was probably the cause of all the pain. I was relieved that she was ok. My sister and I are very close. Seeing her in that much pain and being helpless to take it away was very trying. But she fought through and is doing better and at least now we know whats wrong and can work on getting it solved. So it has been a long tough week. But it has shown me how tough I am and where I get that toughness from. It gives me hope that no matter what I face I will fight until my last breath. I am thankful for having such wonderful and strong people in my family and I draw from their strength. I also draw from all the support I have gotten here. I am so thankful and so humbled by it. I draw inspiration, strength, and comfort from each of you. I truly appreciate it and love each of you for it! Thank YOU!!!!

Prayers for your sister and your grandmother. Sounds like you have a very strong bloodline. Can't keep you down! Here's hoping that the both of them come out the other side of their struggles stronger and feeling loved so very much.

"Can you believe this woman is 101 years old and still has so much fight in her. "

I see that strength in your grandmother. I see that strength in your sister. I see that strength within you, as well. And, I look forward to seeing the pictures of you reaching your goal and holding strong in the future.

Blessings and best wishes for you and your family.

I hope that they both heal.. Good genes in the family. I have had two ICD put in, and they were not that big of a deal. Of course I am not 101, but recovery was 3-4 days, and I felt so much better. Hopefully that isn't necessary, but it sounds worse than it is.

Will be praying for your family.

Very good reaction on your part. It is true that bad things usually make us stronger. That is what my mother used to say. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Tough week! I hope your family members stay strong. I'm amazed that your grandma is 101 and in good enough health for heart surgery - that's fantastic. I've had health problems arizing with my loved ones too and it just reminds me that I need to really work at the weightloss because I only have one lifetime to take care of my body.

    HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND!
