Hit 10,00 fitness Minutes by the end of the year...

Wow.. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you set your mind to it and you break it down into small chunks. Since last week I have lost 4.2 pounds.. That is my biggest weekly weight loss in a long time.. I am adding one big goal to accomplish by the end of the year. That is to walk 62 miles in the month of December. That is 2 miles a day everyday. I know I won't be able to walk everyday but it is something to shoot for. I can't believe I am a pound away from losing 100 pounds... That is just crazy to me. I can remember thinking there is NO WAY I could lose that amount of weight. It would just discourage me just thinking about how much I had to lose. Now to be almost there is crazy.

I know I should be ecstatic by all I have accomplished this month. Don't get me wrong I am very happy and proud. But right now all I can do is think about my grandmother. She lived with us since I was born till I was about 14 and probably had the greatest impact on me in my life. She was born in 1910.. She raised 13 kids of her own... She raised another 30+ grandkids including myself.. She worked as a nanny and house keeper raising even more kids including the Associate District attorney of the state of Illinois.. She never complained.. except for she was bored and wanted a job at 87... She cooked massive feasts that fed over 80 people every holiday well into her late 80's.. I used to love her stories about how it was with dirt floors.. no electricity or running water. She was around before cars were popular... before TV.. She is the single greatest person I have ever known. She has so much wisdom, knowledge and compassion.. She is 101 years and 10 months old... I know it is time.. I just hope to make it home in time to say goodbye. Going to miss my Mama Rosie and I hope I can be a 10th of the person she is.

Congrats on all you have accomplished so far. I pray that you make it home to say goodbye to your grandmother. Hold on to the memories and the experiences you've made and shared with her over the years. I truly hope that they will be of some comfort to you as time passes.

Thanks for sharing your memories of Mama Rosie with all of us. It really took me back to the fond memories I have of my grandmother who's transitioned over.

You're blessed in so many ways, right and precious to even hear about. Please, hold tightly to all of the myriad memories, lessons, and opportunities that having such a vibrant and self-less woman in your life has provided to you.

Know that the strength of your accomplishments have their roots in the lessons she has imparted and the life that she helped provide for you.

Be proud of yourself for your accomplishments. And, remember to always keep her warm in your thoughts; and know that she has every right and reason to be proud of you and all that you have done.

Best wishes to you and remember that as in life, so death is but a journey in need of further exploration when the time arrives.

Awesome job and attitude. You have every right to be proud and celebrate, but you can also feel sad. I'm sure you're 100% the person she is...strong and a survivor!
