I started on Sparkpeople several years ago and some pretty good success with it, but then it was all about diet and exercise but lately when I get on here it's more idle chatter than working on your health. I have a serious problem with my weight and I want to work on it and would love to have the support of people with the same problems. I mean don't get me wrong there should be a place on each team that is reserved for daily convos but there should also be more places that are about your health and goals and less mindless games. It's ok to have fun sometimes but work on the real issues while your having fun. So I am going to create a team that is focused more on our health and less on games and if anyone is interested you are more than welcomed to join me :)

I don't know what I would do without the verbal communication on my teas with my SP friends. I get the support & motivation I need to keep on going while at the same time, I am working on my weight & health. Best of luck!

I wish you luck with your team but one thing you will discover is that availing members with challenges to help them with their weight loss doesnt garantee that people will use them. I have a team of 13 officially, its a team I started for basically the same reason, I wanted a small group that could focus more seriously on their health. At best I have four or five that participate. I have been around Sparks for much longer than my current start date suggests and this has always been the case. Those that want to work on themselves will and those who arent ready wont regardless of what we try to do to get them to do it

I use to get depressed that people wont participate, but all that does is impedes my own progress. I focus on those who show up and put in the work. The one valuable thing about the chatting is that people get to know each other better and tend to participate more in challenges to help motivate their friends

Again I wish you luck because Sparks can always use a good Sparkteam. I only do my two because there is a surprising amount of work involved in running a team
