November measurements

Thursday, November 17, 2011

This is a little late posting but I got measured on Monday! Overall I am happy with the results. I think that I gained inches in shoulders, arms and thigh from strength training.... or the trainer measured me wrong... any ways here are the results:

body weight 181 (-4 pounds )
body fat % 31.6 ( - .4%)
BMI 26 ( -1.3) still overweight but getting better

shoulders 43 ( +1 inches)
chest 38 ( -1 inch)
waist 36 ( -.5 in)
hips 41 ( +1 in)
thigh 23 (+1 in)
calf 16 ( +.5 in)
arm 13 (+1 in)

I am trying to eat higher protein lower processed carbs in hopes that it will help me drop the weight quicker. I hope to lose 6 pounds by next measurements, which will be around December 15 so that I will be around 175 for Christmas. Its not what I had originally wanted but any weight loss is better than none. I have found it hard to take the weight off after having my baby, but I knew that it would probably be that way since I always have a hard time losing weight. I can't diet and workout as much as I want either since I am breastfeeding and I don't want to lose my supply.
My half marathon is December 4! I am running 12 miles this Sunday as a test run to see what kind of a time I can expect to get. I have already picked a marathon to run next year as well! The Nashville Rock'n Roll Marathon April 28, 2012! Hopefully I will be around 150 by that time so that I can try and PR!
I am still workout mainly in the morning since I am the one that puts the baby to bed ( hubby claims he "doesn't know how" to put him to bed).
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!

i hear you go girl! i havent lost any weight in the past 2 weeks. not really sure why. very frustrating! My milk supply stopped completely because i had to supplement my baby with formula because i wasnt making enough, and had horrible cracks, so couldnt nurse her all the time anyway due to pain, ect. so now she's on all formula. but i lasted almost a month, and i figure some is better than none, and she did get the colustrum which is the most important stuff!

hoping the weight will start coming off. good luck with your marathon!

You are amazing! Let's forget the weight for a minute. I have lost all my baby weight but am nowhere near where you are in terms of fitness. 12 miles?! Incredible!!!

Slow & steady, I wouldn't worry about the weight itself as long as you are making healthy choices.

However, my hubby and I did watch an awesome movie about 2 weeks ago, called "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead". It's amazing! All about a guy that does a 60 day juice fast and he lost over 80 pounds and totally turned his health around, got off medication, etc. We invested in a juicer with hubby's bonus, and just used it last night & this morning for the first time. Right now we're just supplementing, but at some point I'll do a 7-14 day juice fast to "reboot" my body.

There are a couple of cool websites you could check out:

Best wishes on maintaining your healthy lifestyle, getting back to a healthy weight (eventually!), and most of all, enjoying that precious baby and setting an amazing example for him to follow someday when he grows up!

I'm right there with you. Trying to find a balance between weight loss and keeping you your supply. I definitely think that increasing my protein intake has really really helped me. It's kinda funny though that now that I can't do any cardio because of my injury that I'm still losing weight and I'm eating a few more calories (that part isn't on purpose). This is making me reevaluate my program once I am able to get back into the gym.
