Rest Day

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Yesterday we discovered that our land line phone was out of service so my son and I spent some time analyzing the problem and getting it reported to AT&T. The neighbors were without a phone as well. The serviceman made it out in the afternoon and got it fixed.

I had to make my grocery list yesterday morning and go do my errands. I only had to go to the post office, newspaper office, Aldis, Kroger, and Wal-mart. I came home and my son helped me put the food away and then we had lunch.

I made supper later and then helped hubby learn to pay bills. I don't pretend to understand how men think but I know they don't think like women. Hubby questions everything. Testosterone must have a direct link to questioning of authority, not that I have any authority around here. "Why do you have to write the check in the check register?" "Why do you have to send a copy of the bill in the envelope- why can't you just send the check? They only want the money anyway." Why? Why? Why? It's like having a 2-3 year old again. LOL. I was semi-patient. It's not something that comes naturally to a former head nurse/supervisor.

The newspaper is publishing our bald eagle picture.

My son went to taekwondo today and had a work related meeting late in the evening about the upcoming holidays.

LOL! You are right about that Mortica! Men and women most definitely do NOT think alike! bahahaha! emoticon

I guess it's that he probably feels like he doesn't want another thing added to his plate cause that's the way my hubby is at times. But his learning will stand him in good stead! What would he do without you? Maybe it's one of the reasons why he doesn't want to deal with all the legalese of his late mother's estate, ect. and that is probably why it's been so hard on him. Just a thought.

Anyway, I am so glad that the picture of your eagle is making news! That is awesome! I love wildlife and think God is so good the way He made everything in this world of ours to enjoy and care for.

Take care and stay safe & warm! Because it is certainly cold down here! 36 degrees at 9:28 p.m. Of course, my internal thermostat is busted according to hubby! LOL! emoticon emoticon

Showing your dh how to pay bills is from scratch. That's an awakening for me. We've always done it together. That way we both know how broke we are, I guess.

You have the patience of a saint!! I would grab the checkbook and do it myself!! LOL!!! Cold and windy here today. I'm watching the grandkids so my daughter can go to new house to have floors measured for carpet. Son in law has been here all week going to training during the day. 10 days till they move down here!! YAY!!!

Men as 3-year-olds. I can see that.

We\re the opposite. Hubby has always taken care of finances and I'm clueless. When I did have a bit of money I gave it to an investor to take care of it for me and still didn't learn anything. I know I could learn, but don't take instruction well from hubby. Your husband is doing better than I ever could! (I also went to a driving school when I learned to drive in my forties!)

Yes, lots of guys are like that.

Stay strong, GF! At least he's listening to you and not insisting on leaving the bill out of the envelope and recording nothing! This is all, of course, a very good argument for paying everything with cash.

Over the summer, I had to teach a new program to my computer-illiterate, ADHD male friend. I'm with you on the questions. "Why can't I do it this way instead?"

I'm still not sure if he actually learned anything!!

Ah so you only had 17 stops today - piece of cake huh?? LOL! You're a better woman than I am - trying to show DH to use a logical ordered process. What was that old saying about teaching a pig to sing??

My DH returns from Europe tomorrow and I am trying to resist the urge to pounce on him with The List!
    Sleep Well!
