Six days to go.
I made an appointment to get my release for going back to the gym. My friend Amy is going with me to Zumba the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Most of the girls said we were crazy for going on the weekend after Turkey Day but we say they are crazy for not going. I've been reading a lot of articles about how many calories I'll be consuming on Thanksgiving and my arteries clogged a little. We do traditional at our house. They might let me get away with healthier stuff during the rest of the year, but turkey has to be basted and stuffed, yams with butter and brown sugar, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, and on and on and on. Since I can't eliminate it from the meal, portion control is a must. I've got a plan to survey the food, pick my must haves, and do half the portion I normally would.

    check on the article on sparkpeople about taming thanksgiving. they have a low calorie, low fat green bean casserole and wonderful suggestions to cutting calories. no one, not even your loved ones, seriously needs to consume 4,500 calories in one meal. i was shocked when i saw that that was the average calorie content of thanksgiving. Hopefully you can cut the calories of all your favorites and make everyone happy.
