hanging tough after Halloween

Boy, it was hard getting back on track after all that candy. I did it. I decided on Saturday afternoon I was going to try to walk/run around my neighborhood. It's a half mile block, exactly.
I did run so much more than I thought I could. I almost made it all the way around. walked the last street before back to mine. I coughed for a good hour afterwards. I've heard from other runners, that happens in the cold when you first start out. They say it will get better.
Sunday was warmer so I tried again. This time I ran to the spot I stopped at and went to the next driveway. I didn't cough so much at all.
Today I was at the gym feeling empowered after knowing I can almost get around the block. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical instead of my usual 30. I did some weights too. I'm getting so much more flexible with all the stretching. My back pain is almost gone. Only a little pain while sleeping. But I can deal with that.
Anyway, I got home from the gym and decided what's another 6 minutes around the block. I ran past that second driveway and to the next one. Didn't cough at all this time.
I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. I think I'll take a spin class and home to run again.
Oh, did I mention I'm down another pound this week? No candy. No candy. No candy.
