You Can Really Have it Your Way at Burger King! Who Knew?

Teacher work day and we went out for lunch. I chose the Burger King Veggie Burger. When I went to enter this meal into the nutrition tracker I checked the Burger King website to get the nutrition details. Good news it is 22 g of protein and only 2.5 g of saturated fat. Bad news however is 1030 mg of sodium for 410 calories. Prior planning could have saved me. (Of course the group decided on Burger King once we got in the car.)
Maybe I need a phone with a data plan. Using the nutrition section of the BK website I have determined given the same options I would go for a Whopper JR and customize it. Take away the dill pickles, mayo, & ketchup, add mustard and it would be 250 calories, 310mg of sodium, and 4 g of saturated fat. It is only 13 g of protein and has 35 mg of cholesteral, but the sodium is way down and that is worth the trade off for me.
Who knew that the veggie burger was not the best choice and that the Burger King website gives you all the details for the (probably) thousands of ways you can really "have it your way"!
