I've been on SparkPeople for a few years now. Have an impressive number of points. Still not to my goal, but not that far from it.

What have I lacked? Commitment. But in my case, it is because I have so bloody many things to commit to that I do each of them as a part-time job. I put in the hours I can when I can, and hope that I am advancing toward my goal of being the man I want to be. There is some evidence that I'm succeeding, and some evidence that I need to put more work into more areas.

Even so, last January I had ballooned to 272 pounds, mostly due to holiday eating at the house I was living in. I pulled myself down to around 240 before leaving there, and am bouncing 228-231 right now.

If you're worried about a diet because you don't have the time to put all the thought and effort into it, I think I am proof you don't have to -- you just have to keep putting SOME time and effort into it, as much as you can, until you get there. I have a few pounds to go before I'm happy, but I'm confident I will get there. Just keep checking into SparkPeople daily and you'll keep your head in the game.

Thank-you for the reminder. I need badly to get back where I was and make an effort to log in every day again.
