Why is this so hard now?

Wednesday, November 09, 2011

Exercise was never a problem for me. I was always the athlete who played every sport. The food thing was always my main problem. Now I find eating and tracking easy and I cannot make myself start working out. I've even set my sites low 10 min. How sad is that? I cant make myself get off my butt and exercise for just 10 min a day! I really wish I had a reboot button i could press to reset my mind completely.

I don't know why that happens... I sometimes get that inertia, too. The thing I have found is that pushing myself to make myself just start exercising is ultimately my reset button. Once I start in again, I wonder why I quit. Can you make a date with yourself that you cannot break? Set a time to go to the gym and get there?

Last year I shelled out for a personal trainer, knowing if I spent that money I would have to get my tush in gear and get there. That was the best thing I did for myself because I am back in the rhythm of exercising.

Have you thought about FIVE minutes exercise instead? Even just walking to the mail-box and back a couple times a day if you have one! All things start from small seeds!

Thanks for the comment. Today I won the battle in the war against myself. I got off my butt and went to workout for my start back of 10 mins. I actually did 12 min. I know its not much but I still won the battle and that's what counts the most! emoticon

I totally know what you're talking about! We just got back from a vacation and I can not get back to exercising! I was even starting to enjoy exercise before we left and now I just can't do it.
