How to stay on track

I have had continuing problems losing 15 lbs. I get close and then I ease up and 20 more pounds suddenly appear so I have to start over. I have done this enough times that it should no longer be an issue and yet here I am. As I get older,it is even harder. The weight is coming off slower.
Some of the sparks have amazing stories to tell, they are inspiring to read. I encourage everyone to write about their struggles, someone will read about it and nod in agreement and be able to continue on their journey knowing others have done it. emoticon

    Been there, doing that. I lost five pounds last August through October and kept it off until the holidays hit! And now I can't kick the habbit of eating right again. I keep eating everything that I want in the quantities that I want, even though I know I shouldn't. I do work out six days a week, but my eating is what is killing me. I have fallen off the wagon, and am having a hard time getting back on it. I had a great week last week, but not so much this week! I know what I should be doing, but then my mind overrides it and down in the whole I go again:(

    I have the same problem. I have tried so many diets and so now I have decided that if I hope to lose 100 lbs by next July, I will be walking more even if it means walking in the snow and rain so be it. So far I have lost 11 1/2 lbs and kept it off but I was on a up and down rolle rcoaster that has kept me depressed. I got off that roller coaster and so far I feel great and so keep up the great work and don't let anything come between you and your goals. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I wish I was writing an amazing journey story. Yet mine is the same as yours. I think most people's is. Good luck to us.

    Oh it's so embarrasing sometimes how this food thing just takes all our confidence away when we finally think we got it licked! Last yr I found sparks in July. By Nov I had lost 24 pds and was almost at goal wt. Than Bam! Knew my stuff, here I am back resparkin I gained every darn pd back. grrrr. I hear ya girl. What i know is that I can do it again! I did it before and I felt great. Just keep doing what they tell you to do, and don't quit! Make yourself daily goals that you can follow. Make do goals instead of don't goals! ex. Do eat bkfst! , Do take vitamins, Do spark daily etc. even if you goof up you can still fix it the next day! That's my take on this. Keep coming back!

    You're certainly not the only one to have trouble - to have a weight that they keep coming close to, then backing off from. Sometimes it helps to ask ourselves what will happen if we break through that barrier - what we will have to face if we get below that number. The answers can be surprising, from baggage we're trying to avoid facing, to the idea a bunch of other things in our life will have to change and a fear of that much change / chaos.
