November goals

Friday, November 04, 2011

I have never done this before - make actual goals and put them to print. So here goes:

Goal #1) Lose 6-8 pounds in the month of November bringing my weight to 184-186 (my November starting weight was 192 - yah, yah..I had gained a few pounds last month but I refuse to move my ticker until I go BELOW the ticker amount emoticon)

Goal #2) Lower my Fasting Blood Sugars to below 105 consistantly!

Goal #3) Survive Thanksgiving. emoticon emoticon

Plan of action:

-Track and measuring everything that goes into my gready mouth. emoticonand that includes the things I don't want to track. emoticon emoticon

- Exercising @ least 1 hr. a day emoticon emoticon emoticon

- Drink 48-64 oz. of water EVERY day emoticon

- Sleep 6-8 hrs a night emoticonfor some this is easy but I am a serious insomniac with restless leg problems.

I know this is all the recommended advice we receive on our beloved emoticon but like so many out there I do not always follow the learned advice of others. (my son and I were talking about this very issue today at brunch. I was telling him how my cousin gave me a plaque of St. Jude the patron saint of desperate cases and lost causes. LOL! she gave it to me b/c she said I always had to learn everything the hard way and did not listen to the good advice of others.) So there you have it! St. Jude pray for me.

-- and my prayer for you - may we all succeed this month in our quest for better health and that we muddle through with the wonderful support of all our Spark friends. I also pray that we listen to the good advice of others and learn from thier experiences.

    Rosie,
I am so guilty of not following the advice I so often give, but, like you, I've "renewed my spark" and am working to following every item of advice you so wisely wrote about! Today was day 6 of eating correctly and tracking what I've eaten, along with walking every day. I need to get back to a consistent schedule of strength too!
I had gained 6 pounds over what is shown on my ticker but I haven't changed it - I weighed (unofficially, Sunday is my day) today and was 1 pound below what my ticker says!
    WooHoo! We can do this.

What a wonderful step you have taken. They say writing goals down make them achievable. I believe you can do it and you have inspired me to work on this myself.
