My NEW bike!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, November 03, 2011

I found this under a bush in my parents yard. This thing has to be from the 50's! It even had a fin on the finder! I love this bike for some odd reason! I have no idea why but I do! It spoke to me..Like we were meant to be together..lol..When I first found it, nothing worked on it! Everything was frozen! I've played with it most of the day today. The finder is mostly chrome now just with a few rust spots here and there. The peddles now work but the handle bars are still froze. The bikes tires are dry rotted, the back rim needs to be replaced but the front rim seems to be ok. It needs a new seat.. The only thing that is in good shape is the frame but its covered in rust! I have no idea what the original color of the bike was..lol It's going to take some time and a little bit of money but im going to restore this beauty!!!!!!!

I love vintage stuff, so good luck with it. You would love it, since it likely doesn't have multiple gears. I demand finished pictures. Good project. I'm jealous. I need to repair my bike still, and re-sell it so I can buy a bike that actually fits me. emoticon emoticon

This is just EXACTLY the kind of bike the "tinkerers" in our bike club would have a blast re-habbing for someone to ride! :-)

They're ALWAYS finding bikes tossed in the bushes and cobbling them together for charity.

I wish I had a bike. It will be a great one once you restore it. Good luck!
