I know, I hear

So, the title of the blog actually has nothing to do with the subject matter but it happens to be the name of the song that gave me some motivation last night. I went to the gym at around 7 pm to run a 5k for the Trick or Trot Virtual 5k on SP. As soon as I got to the gym, though, the manager asked me if I would try a new class they were offering. I have a hard time saying no to people (something I need to work on in my love life, but it doesn't apply here) so I obliged even though I really needed to get that 5k in.

The class ended up being a boot camp style of class, something I've wanted to try for a long time. This was just the kind of thing to jumpstart my workout. I've been lagging a bit in my fitness minutes and getting lazy ever since I ran the half marathon (a month ago). The instructor was super cute and very helpful (especially when I clumsily fell off/got stuck on the spinning bike). We did short spurts of intense exercise and kept switching from cardio to ST. It was an insanely great workout. I'm definitely going to try it again next Tuesday and hopefully I won't get injured this time. :)

I went to the treadmill after it was over, telling myself I was only going to walk for 30 minutes or so and do the 5k the next day. I started at my normal pace of 4.0 and did that for a couple of minutes. Then one of my favorite songs came on in my ear. And the lyrics pushed me to do more and I started to run. I ended up running the 5k. It wasn't my best time but I did it.

The lyrics that inspired me (and video link to the song below if you're interested): Never going to stop, not even, not ever. Never going to stop, not even, not ever. Never going to stop, not even, not ever. Never going to stop. Never going to end, not even, not ever. Never going to end, not even, not ever. Never going to end, not even, not ever. Never going to end.

I hope all of you find some motivation in a quote or a song or from a SP buddy that keeps you going today. Good luck on your journey.

I love that you tried it and stuck with it even with the "unfortunate" spinning thing (you are brave, girl ... those seats are designed for torture in my opinion) ... and Huge Kudos to you for finishing up your work out with the 5K! Look at you go!

We can't change everything overnight but we can certainly take a huge leap in the right direction with a slight change in our attitudes ... YOU CAN DO IT! Can't wait to hear about next Tuesday's class! emoticon
