I am now in my 2nd week of being a gym member and I am actually STILL looking forward to going.

I know, I am as surprised as you are.

I think that finally committing to Spark People has given me a lot of extra motivation to finally getting myself healthy and making a real lasting change in my lifestyle and choices. This morning I was waiting for my ride when he called me to tell me that he was stuck behind an accident on the Beltway and was going to be late. Well it was cold this morning so I went back into the house to wait. I stood right next to the candy bowl that is filled to overflowing with the bribes for the little moochers that are going to be coming to my house to demand payment for not spending the next year randomly screwing w/my property (Halloween in my neighborhood is basically one big protection racket w/the candy taking the place of the rolled up $20s that we would be giving the mob). I picked through it and grabbed 4 of the better bribes (2 mini Reese's pumpkins, a Hershey bar, and a fun sized Snickers). But then I put them back. No browbeating, no eating them and then feeling guilty...just me standing there and knowing that I didn't need it and I really didn't want it. I was just bored. And that is not the way I need to satisfy myself when I am bored. So no candy for me.

Good luck to everybody. Here's hoping that you make good choices. And if you fall off the wagon don't beat yourself up over it. Just acknowledge it and make better choices next time.
