I really am going to try to be better!

I used to blog a lot. Now? Not so much. I'm attempting to get better at it again. I really want to blog at least a few times a week, even if nothing "exciting" is going on.

This past weekend was great. Friday night we had to run some errands so we ate dinner out. We went to Chuy's--yum yum--and split fajitas like usual. We get the "fajitas for one" and it's always plenty enough for both of us. Delicious and pretty healthy overall. I wish they brought the food faster so I wasn't tempted to eat so many chips beforehand, but overall not bad. Saturday we woke up a bit later than planned and got ready to head out of town. We made it to my sister's around noon and hung out with my family for a while before heading to the party.

My nephew's party was a lot of fun. They had a bounce house from a friend so all the kids played in there. DSS loves jumping in bounce houses, so he spent the majority of the time in there. I think there were about 50 people at the party (which is crazy for a 1 year old!!) but a lot of my family was there so it was good to see them all. After the party we took everything back to my sister's house. My nephew's dad's family and some friends were all over at the house, so my parents decided to get hotel rooms for us instead of staying in all that chaos. I haven't been sleeping well the past couple of weeks so I wasn't looking forward to sleeping in a strange bed, but whatever. I just wanted to sleep after being on my feet half the day and cooped up in a car the other half of the day.

We ate dinner at Gattitown which was kind of gross, so I ate mainly salad and a bit of pasta. We went to the hotel and I passed out right away. DSS fell off the couch where he was sleeping around midnight and I couldn't pick him up, so hubby picked him up for me and put him back on the couch. Then hubby went to the bathroom and apparently blacked out. All I heard was a loud crash and knew he had fell. Of course he had locked the door so I couldn't open it so I was frieking out. I guess he came-to then opened the door like nothing had happened. I was too frieked out to be mad that he acted like nothing was wrong. He hit his head when he fell, so we stayed up for a while to make sure he was okay. Eventually he went to sleep, but I stayed up all night worried about him. Apparently my mom did too. He slept like nothing happened. Ugh!

Sunday we ate breakfast at the hotel--again, not good food--and then headed to hubby's sister's house for a quick visit. We left there and headed home. I took a little nap, then we went to the grocery store. I spent the evening batch cooking and preparing stuff for the week. (It's always a huge mess to clean up and tons of dishes to wash, but makes it SO much easier throughout the week.) We've been eating WAY too much easy/convenience food and not enough veggies, so I planned to change that this week. I went to bed early and am surprisingly well-rested today. Tonight's dinner is chili--in the crockpot already, yay!--and then we're taking DSS trick-or-treating if we can find somewhere to go. I really dislike Halloween and all that it entails, but I think DSS will have fun, so we're going to try to find a nice neighborhood to go to. Maybe one close-by so we can walk and get some extra exercise.

Tomorrow I'm off work for a doctor's appointment and court for my CASA case. I also plan to get some house cleaning done and try to go find some more maternity clothes. I don't have winter clothes that fit sooo that's the goal for tomorrow. At least 2 pairs of pants and a couple of shirts. I'm not going to overdo it with the cleaning though, because every time I say I'm going to work around the house I end up wearing myself out and then recovering for the next week or so! So the goal is easy cleaning throughout the day. Everything is mainly done, just needs touchups, but I do need to scrub both bathtubs. Oh joy.

And I guess I'll wrap it up there. Long enough for a Monday, right? (:

Take care, Sparkers!

Wow, scary thing about your hubby! Why does he lock the door in the middle of the night?? lol

What do you prepare when you batch cook? I need to do something different b/c what we're currently doing isn't working - i.e. nothing geared toward actual weight loss. hehe you can either inbox me with your ideas or message me on my page. Either is fine with me. Thanks!!
