Thoughts on my first 5 days

I did not start blogging until today because I wanted to spend a few days figuring out the site (and ensuring it was going to work for me!). Now that I have the hang of things, I'm ready to start putting my thoughts down.
I am here trying to lose the last 10lbs that have clung to my butt, belly, and thighs since my son was born 5 years ago. I am an active person and eat pretty healthy. I kept thinking the weight would come off just by being who I always was.
Turns out that who I always was is a girl that underestimates her caloric intake in a major way. No wonder the scale wouldn't budge!
Tracking my calories the past few days has been a huge eye opener. My activity level is great, my consumption not so much. I am really appreciating the meal plans and daily feedback. My eyes are wide open now as to the importance of portion size!
So, it goes to show that a person that eats vegetarian and works out 4-5 days per week can still hold onto weight by over eating. Perhaps I had become more of a starch-atarian?
I have a trip to Florida planned, my goal is to have this 10lbs off before we go. Funny thing, the last time I was at my target weight was for a trip to Florida. I found out I was pregnant with my son while we were there. Coming full circle...
