It snowed today...

Today was the first snow of the season. Wow it's not even November yet and I had to get out my winter boots.
Around this time last year I was hospitalized after one of the worse headaches of my life. Now that says a lot because I get debilitating headaches that have gotten worse after my brain surgery in march of '09. After a series of painful tests, including a lumbar puncture, and several days in the hospital, the dr.s concluded that its just another phase of my headaches. The cold weather and precipitation were very rough on my head. Needless to say I was homebound for most of the winter and whenever I did go out , my head payed the price. What can I tell you.. That was one year ago.
Today , I was able to go to my sisters house for a quick visit. Then I walked to the supermarket and picked up a few things I needed. I walked back about a quarter of a mile with groceries, in the snow and an energy I couldn't believe I had. When I got home my head was achy but the overwhelming feeling that I had conquered my fear of the winter did not allow me to pay it too much attention.
I am happy for these accomplishments and these small rewards I get every now and then that remind me that I am finally in the right place for my healthy lifestyle journey. At Sparkpeople is where I belong. Also, I get to share all that I am overcoming with my friends at sp. Thank you all for your support and encouragement..
