More on the Naturopath

Saturday, October 29, 2011

Well after the big halloween party, things are still not totally put away. DS2 former housemate claiming my decorations as hers (2 more months and we will be rid of her!!!) A week off, both from work and my normal diet.
I feel like crap, staying up too late and sleeping too long in the am. That's probably my normal circadian rhythm but doesn't do well with work hours!

I met and saw the Naturopath, I could only afford the hair analysis, so that is what we started with. He instructed on so many things that are causing my problems, starting with my Gut, I was sure that I had an overgrowth of yeast for YEARS but SAM (standard american medicine) wouldn't hear of it. plus the stress I've been under since returing to Ohio 25 years ago! Winter is a major portion of that. and with DH diagnosis and retirement things have been off the charts. Though he thinks in the long run we can get rid of the pamelor for my fibro but if we get that far I won't care!

He gave me his nutrition information, I crossed out grains, and seafood right away. He doesn't like soy products either, so that's easy, he did say that for some people a higher fat diet was better, but of course didn't elaborate. so that's still up for debate (or not!). Of course if I'm "fixed" maybe I won't be as sensitive to carbs as I am now. We are actually eating the way the info says except for the "organic" part and I still don't know how long I can afford it!

After the hair analysis comes back I'll have another appointment and I'll start an elimination diet. which is where you eliminate everything that can usually bother a person and then add them back one at a time to see which things you are actually sensitive too.

I miss coming here, though I do read alot of blogs every week.
Hugs and well wishes.
