Make one small good decision

Thursday, October 27, 2011

Now do it over and over and over again. Every single day. Tonight was one of the most difficult events I have had in a long time. Many staff not showing up. The ones who did where difficult, lazy and combative and the rental company forgot the only piece of equipment that was crucial to the entire event. Then they were not able to get it to me in over 90 minutes and we almost couldn't get the event together in time. When I left after it started I walked out into the icy rain and saw a coffee shop. I went in and order a cup of coffee and on the counter was an enormous brownie. It was probably 4 servings. I wanted that brownie. I wanted to eat my stress. I stared at it longingly, the devil and the angel on each shoulder fighting it out. I looked up to a gentleman holding a greek yogurt and 2 banana's in line. It was enough to make my brain override the desire to eat and I left with not just my coffee but also my self respect. That tasted better than any brownie ever could. It can be this simple. Little decisions like that over and over until it is a habit. When we make a slip up. Rinse and repeat. You can do it too.
