Shaun T LIVE - recap of workout with Shaun T

Thursday, October 27, 2011

Date: Saturday, October 22, 2011
Place: Arlington, TX Convention Center

I didn’t sleep great the night before, almost as if I were running a race on the 22nd of October. I wasn’t running a race though. Why be so nervous then Jerome??

Saturday at 6:30am I was in line at the convention center to check in with Beach Body. I was about to do my very first LIVE workout with Shaun T of Insanity and Insanity Asylum!! HOLY SMOKES, what have I gotten into here?!?!

I was surprised there weren’t more in line yet. I mean, the workout didn’t start till 9am, but this was SHAUN T after all! I sat around talking to those in line, mostly to a 16 year old kid who had done P90X with his Dad and lost over 30 pounds himself. He was excited and ready to roll with Shaun T as we all were.

One dude walked in with Taco Cabana for breakfast¸ SERIOUSLY DUDE??? I looked at him and asked that he hang onto that bag and use it as a barf bag, LOL!
My friend Sheryl showed up later and we just visited shared stories about our journey, etc. They tried to get me to do a BeachBody success story, but I didn’t do it. Yes I’ve completed Insanity, but that was only one small part of my 100 pound journey, I didn’t feel that I could give all the credit there.

Finally about 8:45 they opened the doors and everybody just rushed into the room, to the front by the stage of course!! So here we are, probably about 500 people stand shoulder to shoulder expecting to do an Asylum workout. Some people just kept pushing to the front and I got bold about calling them idiots, do they not realize they need more room to do this work out? Sheesh people, get real!

The energy in the room was incredible! I’m glad I’d had my spark and mass impact so I was good and ready for this workout, I knew it would be incredible!! Of course the first thing they did was ask us to spread out. So we did, sort of!
Soon enough here came some white dude with hair on stage, um….you are NOT Shaun T! LOL Shaun entered from the back of the room and came through the crowd to the stage. No talking, no welcome, just jogging in place, get after it right away! Let me tell you, we did some crazy stuff, I worked my butt off….and LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!! Shaun worked the crowd very well even coming out onto the floor several times, once walked right by me. I guess I was doing a good job; he didn’t stop and yell at me. HA!!

All in all I am SO glad I got to do this event. I learned a lot, I got an incredible workout and met some really cool people in the process!!

This is Kim, Sheryl, me and Carin

Pretty cool pic of Shaun T during the question and answer session following the workout. This guy is THE REAL DEAL!! I've admired him for over a year and think even more of him now!

KUDOS to you for NOT endorsing it since as you said it was just one small part of your success. I have done P90X and LOVE IT but the Insanity series is harder for me to love! Maybe because it's harder for me to keep up. It is just SO FAST PACED.
Sounds like it was a cool day and a great thing to take part in. CONGRAATS.

That is awesome! What a great experience! I can see how you felt about the testimony. If this was only part of the reason, you really don't want to mislead people and think this will do it...100%...without other factors. I'm proud of you for taking that stand. Thanks for sharing the experience! Keep up the good work! Thanks for your encouragement! Spark on! emoticon

Woo-hoo! I tripped over your 100 pounds lost V-blog this morning because one of my Spark Friends commented on it, and I followed over. Then I saw the date and had to check out CURRENT Jerome. Outstanding maintenance, dude! Never look back.

I completely understand about not giving ONE program all the credit, as like you, I have used multiple tools over time to achieve the loss that I made... I've gone backwards and recovered multiple times, and it's ALWAYS worth it, struggling our way back.

Keep on running! Keep on living! You are an inspiration to us all.
